The West Virginia Commission on the Arts of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History has made available for public comment a draft of the State Arts Plan for the years 2008-10. The draft plan can be reviewed on the Division’s website at www.wvculture.org. (Download the PDF)
The purpose of the State Arts Plan is to help direct the work of the Commission and the Division as they develop arts programs and services that are responsive to the needs of the state’s arts community and general public. The plan also helps fulfill planning requirements of the state code and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Artists, arts administrators and organizations, art faculty members, community arts and social service volunteers and other interested parties are invited to comment on the draft plan. Comments will be accepted through Oct. 5 and should be addressed to West Virginia Commission on the Arts member Jeanne Mozier, chairman of the planning committee, by e-mail at star@starwv.com or by phone at (304) 258-4248.
