Politicos Busy in Local Area
April 20, 1960
Robert Kennedy, well known as chief counsel to the Senate committe[e] investigating improper activities in labor-management relations, was in Bluefield Tuesday in the interest of his brother's presidential campaign.
Kennedy was accompanied here by William Battle, son of a former Virginia Governor, to meet with local Democrat leaders to discuss details of Senator John Kennedy's visit to Bluefield next week.
Kennedy was a guest of the Rotary club and also appeared on WHIS-TV.
The week has already been a busy one politically in Mercer County. . . .
