No Humphrey Stop Here No Airport

The previously scheduled visit of Senator Humphrey, presidential candidate, to Moundsville tomorrow afternoon, has been cancelled.
Eugene Foley, who has been making the arrangements, said he found Glendale Airport is listed on the official records as "Closed" altho it is long enough to take the smaller twin-engine plane the Senator would be using. The New Martinsville airstrip was investigated, but is too short for certainly [sic].
The Senator will make a major speech in Wheeling, at 12th and Market Streets, at 12:30 noonday; he will be at Wheeling College that afternoon, must be in Morgantown that evening which does not allow enough time for a Moundsville [sic] and back to Wheeling airport.
