Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey (D-Miss. [sic]) is scheduled to make a speech at the Mingo County Court House at noon tomorrow in the interest of his campaign for the Democratic nomination for President.

Humphrey's special campaign bus is due to arrive in the city from Huntington at 11:30 a.m. The Minnesota Senator has scheduled 30 minutes of street tours before his talk at the court house.

After lunch, the Senator will leave at 1:30 enroute [sic] to Welch and Pineville with stops scheduled at Gilbert and Iaeger. He has scheduled a talk at the Old High School building at Gilbert at 2:30 p.m. and a speech at the Trailway Bus Terminal in Iaeger at 3:45 p.m.

Before coming to Williamson, Humphrey will spend 20 minutes in Kermit and will make a brief talk and greet the people. His bus is due to arrive in Kermit at 10:20 a.m.

Senator Humphrey has been making a vigorous campaign throughout West Virginia in his quest for votes in next Tuesday's preferential primary. His only opponent for the popular vote is his colleague, Sen. John F. Kennedy. The Massachusetts Senator visited Williamson and spoke to a crowd in front of the Court House on Monday, April 25. Since that time an active "Kennedy for President" organization has been set up in the city.

While lacking the formal endorsement, Humphrey has been given the support of many of the top leaders of the United Mine Workers of America in West Virginia.
