The new Arthurdale Community Presbyterian Church, a beautiful edifice of hand-cut stone, quarried on an Arthurdale farm, will be dedicated this evening at 7:30 with Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of the late president, Franlin Delano Roosevelt, as the principal speaker.

Mrs. Roosevelt is due to arrive at Municipal Airport this afternoon in time to attend a banquet at Hotel Morgan arranged by local Democrats. She will then go directly to Arthurdale for the dedicatory program.

She will be accompanied by Sen. Jennings Randolph. Following her talk, Mrs. Roosevelt will be the guest of honor at a reception at Arthurdale Inn arranged by Mr. and Mrs. J. Wesley Ruby.

The pastor, the Rev. August Vaden Bosche, is in charge of the dedication service and will have as his participating guests, these pastors: John H. Strock, Parkersburg; William Swartz, Washington, Pa.; Arthur Holt, Fairmont; T. A. McMellon, Reedsville; Ichiro Matsuda, Rock Forge; Miss Glenna Williams, Creed Maxwell and Ralph N. Brown, all Arthurdale.

The committee arranging for the service includes Mrs. Annabel Mayor, dedication book; William Lovett, users; Paul Davis, parking; B. B. Luzier and Leonard Perkins, lighting; Creed Maxwell and Mrs. A. W. Rhodes, public address system; and Mrs. Leonard Perkins, seating arrangements.

The Women's Association members will serve as hostesses.

The Arthurdale Church is built of hand-cut stone quarried on a nearby farm. Most of the work was done by the members themselves and the total cost to date has been only $42,000 with the building estimated now to be worth $110,000.

The basement has a social hall which can seat 350 for dinners, a kitchen, rest rooms and a lounge.

The sanctuary will seat 250. Also on the main and second floors are nine classrooms, rest rooms, and a study for the pastor.

The church group met for 25 years in the Arthurdale school building and in 1957 became affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church.
