My Company over mustered for pay up to the 28th day of February 1863 and have received three hundred (300) Dollars all the money that was on hand in the Bank of the West at Charleston Va for the purpose of paying the home guards in this vacinety. (sic) leaving a ballance (sic) yet in favour (sic) of my company. Which I am anxious to have paid to my men. You will confer a on me and the families of the men of my Company by forwarding the ballance (sic) as soon as possible.
We are also grealty (sic) in need of amunition (sic) having but Foruty (sic) Rounds on hand. Please farward (sic) a supply soon. Calabre 58.
The organization of the Battalion is progressing rapidly and soon will be complete With a fair prospect of a Regiment by the first of August if not before
