To His Excellency A. J. Boreman Governor
On the 2nd inst about 9 A. M. there come into Troy, 14 Bushwhackers and Robed one store of all in the dry goods line took 14 head of horses from the citizens around Troy and made off with them [next few words scratched out] word waz given to the Scouts and a portion pursuid them overtaking the Rebs 15 miles above Glenville fired upon them and retook about $150.00 worth of the Stolen goods also Suposing that Two were wounded and then returned
