Lithograph, William G. Brown of Preston County served in the House of Delegates and was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1844. He was a delegate to both the 1850-51 constitutional convention and the Richmond Convention in 1861. Brown was later a congressman for the Reorganized Government of Virginia and West Virginia.
