A Fuss With The Provost Guard. - On Sunday evening an intoxicated person standing in front of the Monroe House, made a remark to a squad of the Provost Guard, which happened to be passing, at which the leader of the squad took offense. The squad charged upon the intoxicated person, who took to his heels and rushed into the door of the Kramer House, the squad following in close pursuit. Mr. Kramer not wishing to have any difficulty, and not knowing exactly the state of the case, closed his door upon the soldiers after the other had entered the house. The soldiers forced open the door and immediately arrested Mr. Kramer for assisting the man to escape. A crowd of Mr. Kramer's friends now collected, and swore that Mr. Kramer should not leave the house, and the soldiers said they were bound to take him. The aspect of things looked very threatening for awhile, and it appeared as if the soldiers and citizens would become involved in a fight. Comparative order was soon restored, and the soldiers continued their rounds, leaving Kramer in the possession of his friends.
