Union Meeting In Wellsburgh. - There was quite a large Union meeting at Wellsburgh on Tuesday last. The meeting was addressed by Auditor Crane and Treasurer Tarr. At the close of the meeting Major Howe, the recruiting officer, stated that although the War Department had countermanded the order for enlistments in the six months infantry service, yet by special arrangement it was provided that recruits might be taken for six months from the date of enlistment into the cavalry service, and that men who had enlisted as infantry might, if they chose, be transferred to the cavalry arm. There is a considerable number of six months infantry recruits in Brooke county, as there is also in Hancock county, and the design, we understand, is to consolidate and form a cavalry company from the two counties.
