ARRIVAL OF HOLMES' BATTERY
March 5, 1864
Capt. Holmes' battery of artillery, (six months' men) arrived in the city last evening and were received at the Baltimore and Ohio railroad depot. The men have nearly if not quite all, re-enlisted, and there is no better material to be found anywhere. They have passed through the most trying period for a soldier, and we are glad the Government is not to lose their services.
