LIEUT. RICHARDS
March 18, 1865
GOV. BOREMAN received some very strong documents yesterday from the grand jurors in session at Wellsburg:also from the prosecuting attorney of the county, in relation to the difficulty at Bethany. He intends to investigate the case by summoning a number of reliable witnesses from the village of Bethany to testify as to the origin and extent of the matter. Opinion seems to be very much divided between persons coming down to the city from the vicinity of Bethany. Some say that the affair is just nothing at all, and others that there is something in it needing examination.
